About the Role
You will lead a talented full-stack team building the transit planning tools that cities rely on to design smarter, more equitable transportation. You'll combine technical leadership with real-world impact, shipping features that directly shape the daily commute of millions. This is a hybrid position with the expectation that you will be onsite in NYC 2-3 days a week.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with a strong full-stack foundation, ideally across TypeScript/React on the frontend and Rails, Python, or similar on the backend
- Experience managing engineering teams
- Comfortable making technical decisions in a complex, data-rich domain
- Understanding of databases, performance tradeoffs, and reliability at scale
Responsibilities
- Lead and grow a team of full-stack engineers building Remix's core planning products and tools
- Own the technical direction of a product that blends complex geospatial data, rich React UIs, and robust backend services
- Partner closely with product managers, designers, and customers to translate insights into engineering priorities and architectural decisions
- Mentor engineers at all levels, running thoughtful 1:1s and growing careers
- Drive improvements to engineering processes from code review standards to CI/CD pipelines
- Collaborate with other engineering teams across Via to align on shared infrastructure, APIs, and cross-cutting concerns
