About the Role
You will lead a team of software developers to drive Robinhood's most important international launch initiatives. You will drive the architecture and execution required to launch Robinhood Crypto and other products in new regions, while shaping the reusable systems that make future launches faster, safer, and more scalable. You will guide technical execution, review system architectures, and ensure services remain highly performant and secure at scale. You will recruit, mentor, and support the career progression of engineers on your team. You will work closely with product managers, compliance partners, and other team leads to define technical strategy and deliver features on schedule.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 2 years managing engineering teams
- Proven experience leading cross-functional teams to ship complex products from concept to launch
- Experience designing and operating distributed systems with a focus on reliability, scalability, and performance
- Experience delivering complex technical projects from initial planning through execution and deployment
- Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and business partners to explain technical decisions and trade-offs
- Experience supporting team development through regular coaching, mentoring, and feedback
Responsibilities
- Lead and support a team of developers, providing clear goals, regular feedback, and structured growth plans
- Define technical direction and prioritize work with product managers and partner teams to scale international products and systems
- Ensure backend services and localized products are designed for high availability, performance, and security
- Manage hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluations for engineers on the team
- Coordinate with product, design, and other engineering leads to deliver critical initiatives on schedule and meet defined business metrics
