Engineering Manager, Card Solutions (NA/EMEA Expansion)

About the Role

You will lead the engineering effort to launch and sustain card programs across new markets. You will translate regulatory and market requirements into scoped engineering deliverables, integrate with local vendors and issuer processors, and coordinate cross-team launch plans. You will establish on-call runbooks, incident response playbooks, and SLAs, monitor production signals, and drive stability and continuous improvement. You will also contribute to core card platform enhancements, favoring extensible, reusable solutions that balance delivery velocity with long-term platform health.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience
  • 2+ years in a technical leadership or management role
  • Experience building and operating payments, card infrastructure, risk or reconciliation systems
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional engineering initiatives and drive architectural decisions
  • Strong systems thinking and ability to design fault-tolerant, observable, and scalable services
  • High bar for code quality, reliability, and peer review
  • Experience with TypeScript, Node.js, NestJS, and AWS

Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering for market localisation and regulatory integration across NA, EMEA, and LATAM
  • Integrate with local vendors, issuer processors, and BIN sponsor systems
  • Translate regulatory requirements into scoped engineering deliverables with Product and Compliance
  • Coordinate cross-team launch plans and manage dependencies across platform, treasury, onboarding, and infrastructure
  • Establish on-call runbooks, incident response playbooks, and SLAs for live markets
  • Monitor production signals and drive post-launch stability and continuous improvement
  • Contribute to core card platform enhancements with extensible, reusable solutions
