About the Role

You will own engine calibration and performance for reciprocating engines powering the V-BAT platform. You will define test plans, tune ECUs, analyze engine performance, and troubleshoot testing issues from bench through flight test. You will maintain calibration documentation, validate performance against requirements, support propulsion models, and represent engine performance in cross-functional technical reviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
  • 2-3 years of mechanical or aerospace engineering experience focused on engine performance or calibration
  • Hands-on experience with reciprocating piston engines
  • Experience with electronically controlled fuel injectors and fuel injection systems
  • Experience with ECU configuration and engine calibration
  • Ability to analyze engine torque, power, and fuel-consumption data
  • U.S. citizenship or ability to comply with ITAR requirements

Responsibilities

  • Define engine test plans, calibration methodology, and acceptance criteria across dynamometer, bench, and flight-test campaigns
  • Configure and tune ECUs, including fuel mapping, ignition timing, and injector phasing
  • Analyze torque, power, and fuel-consumption results and drive corrective actions
  • Lead troubleshooting and root-cause investigations for engine testing
  • Reduce and interpret test and flight data to validate performance against requirements
  • Represent engine calibration and performance in design reviews and technical readiness checkpoints
  • Develop calibration documentation, procedures, and performance reporting
  • Refine propulsion-system and vehicle performance models through test campaigns and data review
