About the Role

You will own SOX scoping, risk assessment, control design, testing, remediation, and reporting for compute and infrastructure. You will establish automated controls for cloud spending, accruals, cost allocations, data pipelines, provider reliance, and audit readiness while working with finance, engineering, procurement, and external auditors.

Requirements

  • Experience designing controls for cloud, compute, infrastructure cost, or comparable high-volume usage-based processes
  • Ability to establish or scale SOX controls at newly public or pre-IPO companies
  • Knowledge of compute accruals, vendor commitments, cost allocation, financial close, and US GAAP
  • Experience evaluating SOC 1 and SOC 2 reports and complementary user entity controls
  • Experience with large datasets and data pipelines
  • Project management, analytical, and communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or IT/Engineering

Responsibilities

  • Lead financial risk and internal-control design for compute and infrastructure accounting
  • Develop and execute the SOX control plan and roadmap
  • Own scoping, risk assessment, walkthroughs, testing, remediation, and reporting
  • Build scalable automated controls for IPO readiness
  • Use AI and automation for matching, monitoring, and anomaly detection
  • Design and monitor controls for compute-cost accruals and provider invoices
  • Establish controls for provider agreements and usage-based charges
  • Design and test cost-allocation controls
  • Maintain audit-ready control documentation and evidence
  • Own controls for financial data pipelines and key reports
  • Partner on IT general controls and automated controls
  • Assess cloud-provider reliance and SOC reports
  • Train control owners and performers
  • Serve as the primary external-auditor contact for compute and infrastructure SOX matters
  • Track control status, testing results, and remediation
