About the Role
You will lead data engineering, analytics engineering, and data science teams while owning the architecture and roadmap of the data platform. You will establish standards for trustworthy data, oversee ingestion and modeling, make tooling decisions, manage scalability and costs, and build operating practices for the organization.
Requirements
- 10+ years in data engineering, analytics engineering, or data science
- 4+ years managing
- Experience leading a multidisciplinary data team
- Strong technical foundation in data models, architecture, and query plans
- Production experience with Airflow, dbt, or Spark
- Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, or ClickHouse
- Experience with AWS or GCP
- Experience improving data quality
- Experience building teams
- Experience in a fast-moving environment
Responsibilities
- Lead, hire, and develop data engineers, analytics engineers, and data scientists
- Own the data platform architecture and roadmap
- Set standards for modeling, testing, freshness, incident response, and dataset ownership
- Partner with engineering on instrumentation and on-chain data ingestion
- Prioritize platform work with analytics leaders and stakeholders
- Make orchestration, transformation, warehouse, and BI tooling decisions
- Manage platform cost and performance
- Plan on-call, review, and documentation practices
