About the Role
You will perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on buses, automotive equipment, and shop equipment. You'll direct highly varied and complex operations related to vehicle and equipment service, and you'll repair and replace subsystems associated with heavy, medium, and light duty coaches and automotive equipment. You'll collaborate closely with other maintenance workers, drivers, and transportation supervisors, and you'll build and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors. Your mechanic classification (AA, A, B, or C) will be assessed during the interview process.
Requirements
- Possess knowledge of the design, adjustment, operation, maintenance, and repair of systems and subsystems of SAM coaches and related shop equipment
- Able to work on their feet eight hours per day, lift 100 pounds, and carry parts, equipment, and supplies
- Possess excellent manual dexterity
- High school diploma or GED equivalent, including trade or vocational school
- Hold a valid SD driver's license
- Able to obtain a CDL permit
- Able to pass a pre-employment physical
- Pass a drug screening and background check: no felonies, clean MVR, no DUI/DWI or reckless driving convictions, and no more than 2 speeding tickets
- Able to apply in person at the Sioux Area Metro office
