About the Role
You will support the Head of Compliance in leading the compliance function and maintaining an effective compliance framework for crypto-asset and payment services. You will advise stakeholders on EU and Maltese regulations, oversee monitoring and risk assessments, coordinate with regulators, prepare reporting, and coach compliance staff.
Requirements
- 5+ years of regulatory compliance experience in financial services, payments, fintech, or the crypto-asset sector, including a senior role
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Deep working knowledge of MiCA and EU payment-services regulation
- Experience designing and operating compliance frameworks, monitoring programmes, and risk assessments
- Experience advising on technology-led product development and regulatory change
- Experience engaging financial regulators and responding to supervisory reviews or inspections
- Professional standing to meet regulatory fitness and propriety expectations and obtain required approvals
- People-management skills
- Professional fluency in English
Responsibilities
- Support the Head of Compliance in managing the compliance function, people, and annual plan
- Provide regulatory advice on EU and Maltese requirements
- Maintain a risk-based compliance framework for crypto-asset and payment activities
- Conduct compliance reviews of customer journeys, disclosures, complaints, conflicts, safeguarding, outsourcing, and operational resilience
- Run the Compliance Monitoring Programme and oversee control testing and risk assessments
- Escalate breaches and drive remediation
- Assist with regulatory relationships, supervisory meetings, information requests, and notifications
- Prepare compliance reports for senior management, boards, and committees
- Partner with MLRO, Financial Crime, Risk, and Internal Audit functions
- Coach compliance staff and deliver regulatory training
