About the Role
You will lead global regulatory strategy and litigation matters across financial services, crypto-assets, blockchain, digital identity, consumer protection, payments, and emerging technologies. You will manage regulatory inquiries, investigations, enforcement actions, disputes, outside counsel, crisis responses, and the development of a high-performing regulatory and litigation legal function.
Requirements
- 10–15+ years of experience as a regulatory, litigation, investigations, or enforcement attorney
- Experience at a leading law firm, government agency, or senior in-house legal role
- Experience supporting technology companies or highly regulated businesses
- Experience managing complex litigation and regulatory inquiries across multiple jurisdictions
- Experience advising executive leadership on high-stakes issues
- Working knowledge of U.S. employment law
- Fluency in data privacy laws and frameworks
- Juris Doctor
- Membership in at least one U.S. state bar
- Ability to work in person from San Francisco
Responsibilities
- Lead global regulatory strategy
- Advise executive leadership on emerging regulatory issues
- Develop regulatory engagement and licensing strategies
- Lead regulatory inquiries, examinations, investigations, and enforcement matters
- Monitor global legislative and regulatory developments
- Lead global litigation strategy
- Manage litigation, arbitrations, investigations, and enforcement actions
- Direct outside counsel and oversee litigation budgets
- Lead legal crisis responses
- Build and lead the Regulatory and Litigation legal team
- Develop litigation, regulatory, and compliance operations
- Create legal documentation, training, and self-service resources
