About the Role
You will architect and run mission-critical operations for real-time market data feeds. You will ensure feeds operate 24/7, define runtime requirements (monitoring, provisioning, risk metrics), lead incident response and data forensics, implement automation to reduce toil, and manage relationships with institutional users while owning projects end-to-end.
Requirements
- 5+ years in technical engineering operations, data systems engineering, or technical project management for distributed systems
- Proven track record running mission-critical systems with incident management and on-call experience
- Deep understanding of data systems and distributed infrastructure
- Experience with financial markets, market data, or real-time systems
- Background at tier-1 financial institutions, crypto exchanges, or infrastructure
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to engineers and C-suite executives
Responsibilities
- Own runtime requirements for Pyth Pro including monitoring, provisioning, risk metrics, and SLA management
- Establish service targets and measure improvements and risk reduction
- Express detailed requirements to enable automation of feed provisioning and feed reviews
- Ensure all feeds meet quality standards and institutional requirements
- Investigate and lead implementation of automation opportunities around price feeds
- Identify repetitive operational tasks and automate to reduce toil and human error
- Proactively identify system vulnerabilities and propose solutions
- Lead data forensics and quantify user impact when incidents occur
- Make high-stakes decisions during incidents and own incident prevention success metrics
- Manage relationships with institutional users and data providers and advocate for operational improvements
- Architect systematic solutions and own projects end-to-end
