About the Role
You will maintain the health of server and network infrastructure across data centers and points of presence. You will troubleshoot and repair equipment, install racks and cabling, manage inventory and tickets, document procedures, and support construction and emergency operations on site.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 2+ years of experience with server, storage, compute, and network hardware
- 2+ years of experience troubleshooting and repairing servers and networking infrastructure
- 2+ years of inventory management and ordering, receiving, and shipping server and network equipment
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug testing and random drug and alcohol testing
- Ability to pass pre-employment and annual background checks
- Ability to work in tight quarters and lift up to 35 pounds
- Ability to work at heights up to 50 feet with safety gear
- Availability to work evenings and weekends as site needs require
Responsibilities
- Report to the job site during initial construction and provide required updates to engineering
- Troubleshoot and monitor servers and networks
- Rack and stack data center network equipment
- Maintain warehouse inventory and assets
- Label and troubleshoot fiber and optical cables
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair power-supply cabling
- Install racks, servers, and switches and hand off hardware for provisioning
- Manage and resolve data center operations tickets in Jira
- Create and maintain task documentation and standard operating procedures
- Receive and decommission data center hardware
- Manage vendor returns and spare-parts inventory
- Design and implement data center network layouts and solutions
