About the Role

You will conduct detailed due diligence on merger and acquisition opportunities worldwide, including in-person site visits. You will design and build complex asset-level financial models to evaluate acquisition opportunities and equity returns. You will co-design and implement policies and internal valuation tools to standardize target evaluation. You will perform financial, legal, and commercial research on target markets, support contract negotiation and drafting, and coordinate internal teams during due diligence. You will prepare presentations and reports for stakeholders and work with finance and legal on tax planning and analysis related to acquisition targets. You will attend meetings and events in support of corporate development activities and perform other tasks that support corporate development efforts.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years experience in financial services, particularly in investment banking or private equity
  • Top-level financial modeling skills
  • Extensive deck making and modeling experience
  • Experience preparing presentations and documents that present complex topics succinctly
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Organized and able to manage projects from inception to close
  • Fluency in a language other than English (Spanish, Portuguese, or Mandarin) is a plus
  • CPA or CFA certification is a plus
  • Experience in startups or early-stage companies, particularly in crypto or blockchain, is a plus
  • Cross-border or international experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed due diligence on M&A opportunities worldwide, including in-person site visits
  • Design and build complex asset-level financial models to evaluate acquisition opportunities and equity returns
  • Co-design and implement policies and internal valuation tools to standardize evaluation of acquisition targets
  • Perform financial, legal, and commercial market research
  • Support contract negotiation and drafting for acquisitions and expansion activities
  • Coordinate internal teams during due diligence
  • Monitor and stay abreast of relevant regulations, laws, and policies in target markets
  • Attend meetings and events supporting corporate development activities
  • Prepare presentations and reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with finance and legal on tax planning and analysis related to acquisition targets
  • Perform other tasks in support of corporate development efforts
