About the Role

You will help establish and operate pilot facilities supporting chemical and black-powder research. You will install and repair piping and mechanical equipment, troubleshoot basic mechanical and electrical issues, organize inventory, support daily plant operations, and collaborate on new pilot systems and facilities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent plus 4+ years of relevant industrial manufacturing or mechanical technician experience, or an Associate's degree in Engineering Technology plus 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Hand and shop tool knowledge
  • Understanding of basic design principles, hardware and plumbing sizing, material selection, and material compatibility
  • Travel up to 10%
  • Ability to lift, move, or carry equipment and materials up to 50 pounds
  • U.S. citizenship or national status, lawful permanent residency, or protected-individual status

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and maintain piping systems
  • Support day-to-day pilot plant operations
  • Maintain and repair pumps, valves, and hardware components
  • Assemble and install structural systems
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical issues
  • Maintain the pilot plant and spare-parts inventory
  • Collaborate to establish new pilot systems and facilities
