About the Role

Join General Atlantic's New York-based investment team and contribute across the investment process for biopharma and life science companies. The role combines scientific and clinical diligence, investment thesis development, deal execution, portfolio support, and strategic value creation.

Requirements

  • MD or PhD in a relevant scientific field.
  • 2-5 years of post-graduate professional experience, including at least 2 years in the life sciences sector.
  • Ability to integrate scientific, regulatory, clinical, and market data into investment recommendations.
  • Strong foundation in financial modeling.
  • Passion for primary scientific literature and scientific or medical conferences.
  • Familiarity with drug development and regulatory processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional maturity and comfort interacting with senior executives.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Source, evaluate, and recommend investment opportunities in drug development and biopharmaceutical companies.
  • Support scientific and clinical due diligence using preclinical data, clinical trial results, regulatory strategy, and market dynamics.
  • Develop and present investment theses to senior stakeholders, including the global Investment Committee.
  • Contribute across deal execution, including coordination with scientific advisors, KOLs, and commercial consultants.
  • Monitor portfolio companies and support capital allocation and value creation.
  • Leverage clinical and industry networks to generate deal flow and market intelligence.
  • Collaborate across the firm and foster knowledge-sharing.
