About the Role

You will join a New York-based investment team with exposure to all parts of the investment process. You will evaluate new investment opportunities and investment themes in biopharma and life science companies, conduct technical diligence, support deal execution, and work closely with portfolio companies. You will bring your scientific background and industry experience to drive strategic growth and generate value for the firm's portfolio.

Requirements

  • MD or PhD in relevant scientific field (molecular biology, genetics, biology, chemistry, etc.)
  • 2-5 years of post-graduate school professional experience, including at least 2 years of relevant experience in the life sciences sector (e.g., life sciences investing, life sciences strategy consulting, life sciences equity research / investment banking, biopharma operating role)
  • Ability to analyze and integrate data from various sources into investment recommendations, including preclinical and clinical data, FDA/regulatory correspondence, and market research
  • Strong foundation in financial modeling with a demonstrated commitment to deepening analytical expertise
  • Passion for primary scientific literature, including scientific/medical meetings and conferences
  • High degree of familiarity with drug development and regulatory processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize and present complex information clearly
  • Demonstrated maturity and professional presence; comfortable interacting with senior executives and management teams
  • Highly motivated, inquisitive, and a positive, can-do attitude
  • Ability to take ownership, work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment

Responsibilities

  • Source, evaluate, and recommend investment opportunities in drug development / biopharmaceutical companies including development and ownership of thematic focus areas
  • Support scientific and clinical due diligence, integrating preclinical data, clinical trial results, regulatory strategy, and market dynamics into investment recommendations
  • Develop and present rigorous investment theses to senior stakeholders, including the global Investment Committee
  • Contribute across the full deal process, including coordination of third-party scientific advisors, KOLs, and commercial consultants
  • Monitor portfolio companies and support the GA team's efforts in capital allocation and value creation
  • Leverage clinical and industry networks to generate proprietary deal flow and market intelligence
  • Collaborate with professionals across the firm and foster exceptional knowledge-sharing
