About the Role
You investigate enhanced due diligence, proof of funds and wealth, transaction monitoring, and PEP or sanctions cases. You conduct OSINT research and crypto exposure analysis, document evidence and decisions, prepare AML reports and case presentations, manage escalations, and apply compliance controls consistently while balancing regulatory and customer considerations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an AML Officer or in a similar financial crime compliance role
- Experience ideally within crypto, fintech, or banking
- Professional judgement and clear decision documentation
- Appropriate escalation judgement
- ACAMS or a similar qualification is desirable
- Organisation in a high-regulatory-standard environment
- Availability for shift-based work
Responsibilities
- Conduct enhanced due diligence investigations
- Investigate proof of funds and wealth cases
- Investigate transaction monitoring alerts
- Investigate PEP and sanctions screening cases
- Perform OSINT research and crypto exposure analysis
- Prepare case documentation, evidence, statements of facts, AML Officer case presentations, SARs, and approval or refusal decisions
- Make compliance decisions within defined SLAs
- Prepare and collect data for the Controls Report
- Deliver results for quarterly and annual AML reports
- Manage escalations with first-line teams and Legal
- Provide guidance, status updates, and resolution paths
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
