About the Role
You'll join Studs' paid piercing apprenticeship program, a minimum 6-week training that combines classroom style learning, observation, and hands-on training. The program kicks off at the end of August at the Abbot Kinney - Venice, CA studio. Once you successfully complete the program, you'll become eligible for a Part-Time Associate Piercer position at the State Street studio. During training you'll earn $19/hour plus tips, and as a graduated Associate Piercer you'll earn $24/hour plus tips. You'll act as a brand ambassador, guiding clients through the Studs experience with clear, confident, and professional communication. You'll become well-versed in piercing operating procedures and safety regulations, keep detailed records of maintenance and sterilized inventory, and uphold studio compliance and company policy at all times.
Requirements
- 3 years of relevant work experience
- At least two years as a Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist (performing venipunctures and/or finger sticks) preferred
- Full-Time: must be available up to 5 days per week (32+ hours), including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Weekend availability (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) required, excluding approved PTO
- Part-Time: must be available varying days and hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, up to 29 hours per week
- Must have availability to work Saturday and Sunday
- Must pierce a minimum of 18 appointments a day
- Must be able to visually inspect ear anatomy to execute advanced piercings
- Must be able to deliver piercings with a steady hand
- Must be able to lift 20 lbs
- Must be able to handle chemicals safely
- Must travel for the duration of the training program (paid by Studs)

- Deliver confident, clear, and professional communication with clients
- Leverage Studs' resources and policies in decision making
- Become well-versed in piercing operating procedures and regulations to ensure client safety
- Keep consistent and detailed records of maintenance, sterilized inventory, and tools
- Prioritize studio compliance and accountability to standard operating procedures and company policy
- Escalate issues and admit mistakes when help is needed
- Provide solutions-oriented feedback and remain open to receiving it
