About the Role
You will lead the planning, people, and delivery aspects of a new AI team. You will identify valuable AI use cases, take them from concept to production, set roadmap priorities, and translate business and technical needs into delivery plans. You will coach engineers, manage performance and hiring, track delivery risks and scope, and collaborate with Engineering, Trading, Quant, Tech Leads, and Staff Engineers.
Requirements
- Process improvement experience and judgment on when AI is appropriate
- Project management expertise in roadmaps, sequencing, dependencies, and risk
- Technical background sufficient to participate credibly in technical discussions
- Experience leading, developing, and performance-managing software engineers
- Track record of delivering software through a team while balancing scope, quality, and timelines
- Coaching, feedback, conflict-resolution, and hiring skills
- Interest in AI
- Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Based in Amsterdam or willing to relocate
Responsibilities
- Understand business processes and identify where AI or improved tools can help
- Develop AI use cases from initial idea through live delivery, including business cases and success measures
- Own the AI roadmap and prioritize work in line with company goals
- Coach and develop engineers through career planning, promotions, and performance conversations
- Hire, plan headcount, and allocate people to priority work
- Maintain team morale and productivity and resolve conflict early
- Conduct regular one-on-ones, provide timely feedback, and support team building
- Translate technical and business requirements into delivery plans and identify dependencies and risks
- Collaborate with Engineering, Trading, and Quant to design and deploy AI solutions
- Track delivery progress, manage risks and scope trade-offs, and keep stakeholders informed
- Improve delivery practices and team velocity
- Align with company goals and timelines alongside Tech Leads and Staff Engineers
