About the Role
You will design and develop primary and secondary aircraft structures from concept through drawing release. You will perform structural calculations, support validation testing, create design documentation, collaborate on airframe integration, and resolve manufacturing and flight-test build issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 2+ years of aircraft structural design or related aerospace structures experience.
- Experience designing and releasing structural components.
- Knowledge of composite and metallic structures, fasteners, bonded joints, and load paths.
- Proficiency with NX, CATIA, SolidWorks, or similar CAD tools.
- Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stackups, and DFMA principles.
- Strong written and verbal technical communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced engineering environment.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop aircraft structural components and assemblies.
- Execute conceptual design, CAD modeling, detailed design, and drawing release.
- Perform stress and strain calculations and basic FEA analysis.
- Collaborate on airframe system integration.
- Support coupon, subcomponent, and system-level structural validation.
- Generate drawings, interface definitions, and analysis reports.
- Resolve build issues with manufacturing and flight-test teams.
- Participate in design reviews and technical discussions.
