About the Role
You will work under the support of a Senior UX Writer and collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers. You will create, edit, proofread, and propose clear, user-friendly Japanese UX copy for app and web-service interfaces, guide pages, microcopy, push notifications, and emails. You will follow writing guidelines, adapt copy to design and development constraints, conduct internal and external research, and use data to develop effective wording.
Requirements
- Native-level Japanese language skills
- Experience in Japanese UX writing or content writing, or at least three years of Japanese-English translation experience or at least two years of English-to-Japanese localization experience
- Basic knowledge of websites or mobile applications for iOS and Android
- Knowledge of basic user flows and UI design
- English skills sufficient for everyday conversation, reading, and writing
Responsibilities
- Create, structure, and proofread UI copy for the PayPay app, merchant app, and web tools
- Proofread English-created designs and create and structure Japanese copy
- Create microcopy, push notifications, emails, and other user communications for apps and web tools
- Follow writing guidelines and propose optimal wording based on design and development constraints
- Conduct internal and external research and create copy based on data
