Utility Robot Developer
Auki Labs develops the Auki Network, a decentralized machine-perception and collaborative spatial-computing protocol. It enables devices, robots, wearables, and AI applications to privately exchange spatial data and computing resources, and also provides spatial-AI and indoor-navigation software for retail, property, and events.

About Auki Labs
Auki Labs operates the Auki Network (the posemesh), a decentralized machine-perception network for making physical spaces browsable, navigable, and searchable by AI and devices. Its blockchain-enabled rewards and reputation layer supports exchanges of sensor data, compute, storage, networking, and monitoring resources. Auki also provides developer resources, grants, domain-management tooling, and products including Cactus for retail spatial intelligence, Gotu for app-free indoor navigation, McKenna for shared AR decoration, and Floorcraft for multiplayer AR experiences.
Skills
About the Role
You will support development on third party hardware to enable access to the posemesh, build and maintain ROS and ROS2 packages for robotic platforms, and develop tooling to enable robotic functionality. You will integrate and optimize cameras, implement inter-device communication over Ethernet and WiFi (including MQTT and peer-to-peer networking), assist with third-party releases to the public repository, and contribute to hardware projects such as wearable devices for posemesh integration.
Requirements
- Extensive knowledge of Python
- Proficient in C++
- Applied knowledge of ROS and ROS2 (including NAV2, LiDAR, and depth camera systems)
- Deep knowledge of Ubuntu Linux
- Comprehensive knowledge of camera integration using GStreamer and FFmpeg
- Solid understanding of camera optimization
- Experience with inter-device communication over Ethernet and WiFi
- Experience with MQTT and peer-to-peer networking
Responsibilities
- Support development on third party hardware to enable access to the posemesh
- Aid in developing tools to support robotic functionality
- Support third party releases on the Auki-Robotics public repository
- Develop ROS and ROS2 packages for Auki robotics tools
- Assist in developing specific use-case applications for robotic platforms
- Contribute to other hardware projects such as wearable devices for posemesh integration
- Integrate and optimize camera systems using GStreamer and FFmpeg
- Implement inter-device communication over Ethernet and WiFi including MQTT and peer-to-peer networking
Benefits
- Hacker residency opportunity at the lab in Hong Kong
- Grants of AUKI tokens (successful applicants may be granted up to 100k USD worth of AUKI tokens)
- Development, fundraising, and marketing support for grant or residency applicants
- Access to robots, smart glasses, and other hardware at the Hong Kong hacker house
