About the Role

You will identify and resolve performance issues across research, training, and inference systems. You will design and optimize TPU kernels, advise researchers on the performance effects of model changes, and work on low-latency inference, low-precision models, performance modeling, collective communication, and assembly-level kernel debugging.

Requirements

  • Experience optimizing machine learning systems for TPUs, GPUs, or other accelerators
  • Experience solving large-scale systems problems and low-level optimization

Responsibilities

  • Identify and address performance issues across machine learning systems
  • Design and optimize TPU kernels
  • Provide researchers with feedback on model-performance impacts
  • Implement low-latency, high-throughput sampling for large language models
  • Adapt models for low-precision inference
  • Build quantitative system-performance models
  • Design and implement collective communication algorithms
  • Debug kernel performance at the assembly level

Benefits

  • Optional equity donation matching
  • Generous vacation
  • Parental leave
  • Flexible working hours
