About the Role

You'll join the Hexagate team to help build a real-time on-chain detection and response platform that combines ML-driven threat intelligence, custom detections, and an LLM-powered rules engine to protect on-chain assets. You'll set direction for a core area such as pipelines, the detection platform, response, or LLM systems, owning architecture, roadmap execution, and technical quality. You'll design high-throughput ingestion, normalization, enrichment, and routing systems for multi-chain activity, and evolve detection engines across a monitoring DSL, statistical and ML models, and threat intelligence. You'll define standards for reliability and observability, drive incident learnings and performance work, and mentor engineers while running design reviews and unblocking delivery.

Requirements

  • Staff level backend engineering, with a track record of leading technical decisions in production systems
  • Distributed systems depth: reliability, latency, concurrency, backpressure, idempotency
  • Strong API design and data modeling skills (relational + event-driven)
  • Ability to lead through influence: clear communication, strong judgment, and pragmatic trade-offs
  • High ownership and ability to drive execution end-to-end
