About the Role
You will build and operate monitoring-platform components under guidance from a senior engineer. You will develop collection, alerting, topology, remediation, and workflow capabilities; instrument services; create dashboards and runbooks; and write automated tests.
Requirements
- 0–2 years of software engineering experience
- Programming proficiency in Go, Python, Java, or Rust
- Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, concurrency, networking, and operating systems
- Understanding of distributed systems concepts including idempotency, retries, back-pressure, caching, and eventual consistency
- Exposure to Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, or similar observability tools
- Linux and shell familiarity
- Kubernetes fundamentals
- Git and CI pipeline experience
- Unit and integration testing experience
- Written and verbal English communication skills
Responsibilities
- Build collection, storage, enrichment, and monitoring components
- Contribute to alerting, correlation, and SLO frameworks
- Contribute to topology and cluster-health services and collection plugins
- Build remediation, workflow, inspection, and scheduling components
- Instrument services with metrics, logs, and traces using OpenTelemetry
- Build dashboards and write on-call runbooks
- Write unit, integration, and contract tests
- Participate in chaos and soak testing
- Participate in on-call as a shadow before taking primary responsibility
