About the Role
You will analyze autonomous-truck performance, investigate system failures, and identify their root causes. You will file and track bugs through resolution, produce performance reports, validate 2D and 3D labels, and work with operations and engineering to improve workflows and processes.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in triage and deep root-cause analysis within the robotics or autonomous vehicle industry
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
- Experience beyond high-level bucketing
- Hands-on experience analyzing vehicle logs across perception, planning, localization, controls, and other system-level behaviors
- Understanding of autonomous-vehicle sensors, including cameras, lidar, and radar
- Experience using simulation to evaluate safety-related behaviors during triage
- Ability to investigate complex issues and drive them to root cause
- Strong analytical and root-cause analysis skills
- Ability to learn, adapt, and apply new concepts, tools, and workflows
- Strong technical documentation and communication skills
- Passion for autonomous technology, safety, efficiency, triage, and simulation
Responsibilities
- Learn the Kodiak Driver system in depth
- Study and assess autonomous-truck performance results
- Perform deep root-cause analysis
- Identify and categorize system failure modes
- File bugs and track them through resolution
- Generate overall performance reports
- Collaborate with operations and engineering to improve workflows and processes
- Perform quality assurance on 2D and 3D labels
