About the Role
You will own system-level engineering and functional safety for a robot. You will manage traceable requirements, define system architecture, perform hazard and failure analyses, establish safety concepts, produce certification documentation, and coordinate engineering work across hardware, software, mechanical, and test functions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field
- Experience applying systems engineering and functional safety practices to complex electromechanical systems
- Experience conducting FMEA, FMEDA, or fault tree analysis
- Understanding of ISO 10218, ISO 13849, IEC 61508, IEC 60204, IEC 61800, and IEC 61010
- Ability to read electronic schematics and related firmware at a system level
Responsibilities
- Elicit, write, review, and manage system, subsystem, and safety requirements with full traceability
- Define, maintain, and review system and subsystem architecture
- Perform hazard analysis, risk assessment, FMEA, FMEDA, and fault tree analysis
- Define safety concepts, safety functions, and fault-reaction strategies
- Develop safety plans, verification and validation plans, and system-architecture documentation
- Coordinate with hardware, software, mechanical, and test functions to maintain safety compliance and requirements traceability
