About the Role
You will recover, purify, chemically convert, and characterize isotopic material from enrichment devices while minimizing losses and maximizing product yield and purity. You will train and mentor junior staff and create reports, presentations, and operator aids or guidelines for technical services and enriched-isotope processing.
Requirements
- BS degree in Chemistry or a closely related technical discipline
- At least 25 years of experience
- Qualification for access to export-controlled technology without an export control license
Responsibilities
- Recover, purify, chemically convert, and characterize isotopic material from enrichment devices
- Execute chemical conversion processes to maximize yield and product purity
- Train and mentor junior staff on chemical processes
- Provide guidance on historical processes, prior trials, and lessons learned
- Develop reports, presentations, operator aids, and guidelines for technical services and enriched-isotope processing
