About the Role

You will turn perception models into reliable production services for robotic systems. You will build gRPC interfaces, manage GPU-oriented deployments, create observability and data pipelines, establish engineering practices, and mentor engineers developing perception services.

Requirements

• 5+ years building production backend systems in Python
• C++ experience is a plus
• Expertise in architecture, concurrency, performance, and API design
• Experience designing and operating gRPC and Protobuf services with schema evolution and backward-compatible APIs
• Experience with containerized deployment, Linux, and GPU compute
• Knowledge of CUDA, PyTorch, and GPU memory allocation
• Experience building developer tools, frameworks, or platforms for ML, computer vision, or research teams
• Knowledge of machine learning and computer vision workflows, including training loops, evaluation harnesses, and point clouds

Responsibilities

• Wrap perception models into reliable production services
• Build gRPC and Protobuf service interfaces with schema versioning
• Own containerization, CUDA and PyTorch environment management, and GPU memory budgeting
• Build observability and telemetry pipelines for fleet-wide perception failures
• Design active-learning data pipelines from fleet data through annotation to training services
• Drive code review, testing, CI/CD, and mentoring for production perception services
