About the Role
You will lead detection engineering, incident response, threat hunting, and security automation. You will improve cloud monitoring, system hardening, response playbooks, and security tooling across AWS. You will mentor engineers, influence architecture, support compliance initiatives, and participate in a weekly rotating on-call schedule.
Requirements
- 4+ years of hands-on security engineering experience.
- Expertise in incident response, threat hunting, SIEM, digital forensics, and scripting.
- Experience designing detections, automating workflows, and improving security operations.
- Experience securing cloud-native environments, particularly AWS.
- Expertise in system hardening, network security, IAM, and security monitoring.
- Strong collaboration, communication, mentoring, and technical leadership skills.
Responsibilities
- Own and improve the detection library in Elastic Security using ES|QL and KQL.
- Lead complex incident investigations and proactively hunt for advanced threats across AWS, Elastic, and Datadog.
- Refine incident-response playbooks and turn incident findings into lasting security improvements.
- Design and implement automated investigation, enrichment, and response workflows using SOAR, APIs, and custom tooling.
- Improve cloud security monitoring, system hardening, and security tooling across AWS.
- Partner with engineering teams to eliminate risk and support ISO 27001, PCI DSS, and DORA compliance initiatives.
- Mentor engineers, influence architectural decisions, and champion security best practices.
- Participate in a weekly rotating on-call schedule.
