About the Role
You will own the reliability and operational performance of large-scale distributed systems and data infrastructure. You will operate and scale streaming and Kubernetes workloads, improve automation and recovery procedures, manage infrastructure through version-controlled practices, and enable self-service infrastructure for engineering teams.
Requirements
- Experience operating large-scale distributed systems and scalable data processing infrastructure in production
- Experience operating Kafka or Kafka-compatible streaming platforms such as Redpanda in production
- Experience provisioning and managing production infrastructure using Terraform
- Experience deploying, operating, and troubleshooting production Kubernetes workloads
Responsibilities
- Deliver streaming and data infrastructure for product initiatives
- Maintain availability of critical data infrastructure
- Scale streaming and Kubernetes workloads and resolve throughput and recovery bottlenecks
- Reduce incidents and manual maintenance through automation, alerts, recovery procedures, and vulnerability remediation
- Connect infrastructure usage to consuming teams and services
- Establish reusable infrastructure modules, deployment workflows, and documentation
- Monitor infrastructure consumers, service adoption, reliability, cost, and maintenance effort
