About the Role

You will manage and enhance financial crime compliance programmes with a focus on AML and CTF obligations. You will develop policies and controls, investigate complex cases, assess risks, support regulatory engagements, monitor regulatory developments, deliver training and mentoring, and prepare reporting for senior leadership and governance forums.

Requirements

  • Proven financial crime compliance experience with a strong AML and CTF focus
  • Experience in wealth management investment platforms banking or financial services
  • Strong knowledge of AML and CTF regulations DIA requirements and industry best practice
  • Experience with KYC CDD EDD sanctions screening and suspicious activity reporting
  • Understanding of the New Zealand AML/CFT Act and supporting regulations
  • Experience developing financial crime policies procedures and controls
  • Strong stakeholder management communication and report writing skills
  • Ability to interpret regulatory change and implement risk-based solutions
  • Proactive self-driven approach and comfort working in ambiguity
  • Experience coaching or mentoring colleagues
  • Ability to promote a strong risk and compliance culture

  • Provide oversight of escalated financial crime matters
  • Review and investigate AML alerts sanctions screening results PEP assessments and high-risk cases
  • Conduct financial crime risk assessments
  • Enhance controls and mitigate emerging risks
  • Support regulatory engagements audits and reviews
  • Monitor regulatory developments and financial crime trends
  • Deliver training coaching and mentoring
  • Prepare reporting and insights for senior leadership and governance forums
