About the Role

You will design, manufacture, and test spacecraft avionics hardware and supporting documentation. You will guide technical contributors, manage subsystem schedule and budget, perform trade studies, select vendor components, test PCBs and integrated systems, participate in qualification testing, and report technical results.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of electronics hardware development experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, or equivalent work experience
  • Component or LRU electrical design experience
  • Systems engineering experience controlling requirements, risks, and integration flow
  • Schematic and board design proficiency with Altium, Eagle, OrCAD, or similar tools
  • Rapid prototyping and debugging skills
  • Experience with RS-422, RS-485, CAN, Ethernet, SPI, I2C, and UART
  • Digital, analog, and signal-conditioning design skills
  • Technical writing and Microsoft Office proficiency
  • U.S. Person status and eligibility to obtain required export authorizations
  • Ability to travel up to 20%

Responsibilities

  • Develop flight-hardware avionics including computing, signal conditioning, control electronics, filtering, data acquisition, and C&DH
  • Provide technical and programmatic guidance to internal and external contributors
  • Manage schedule, budget, and design performance for an assigned LRU or avionics subsystem
  • Perform trade studies and analyze spacecraft operating modes
  • Research, select, and work with suppliers on avionics components
  • Test fabricated PCBs and integrated avionics systems
  • Develop test scripts and simulations as needed
  • Participate in environmental and qualification testing
  • Deliver technical reports on avionics and power-system test results
