About the Role
You will derive circuit-board requirements, create schematics and specifications, and guide PCB layout. You will develop test plans, validate and troubleshoot designs, support integration testing and design reviews, participate in customer meetings, and assess proposal and trade-study technical feasibility.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
- 7+ years of experience designing high-speed printed circuit boards
- Understanding of digital logic, signal integrity, power circuitry, high-speed PCB design, and simulation
- Experience with FPGAs or PLDs, Ethernet PHYs, high-speed memory, PLLs, voltage regulators, and switching
- Knowledge of computer and system architecture
- Experience with board simulation, processors, DSPs, and interfaces
- Experience taking projects from bring-up through production ramp
- Experience creating or reviewing validation and diagnostic test plans
- Lab testing and debugging experience
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government clearance
- U.S. Person status and eligibility to obtain required export authorizations
Responsibilities
- Derive and document circuit-board requirements from system requirements
- Create schematics for complex high-speed PCB assemblies
- Create functional and design specifications
- Lay out or guide the layout of complex PCBs
- Assist with PCBA manufacturing when needed
- Collaborate on signal integrity, mechanical, and power design and testing
- Develop PCBA test plans and procedures
- Validate, troubleshoot, and test complex circuit boards
- Support system integration and test troubleshooting
- Support design and development gate reviews and related documentation
- Support customer meetings
- Participate in proposals and trade studies
