About the Role

Design, build, and maintain a modern data lake and its architecture. Define ingestion, transformation, and storage models for structured and unstructured data, implement data classification and DLP controls, translate stakeholder needs into pipelines and governance controls, ensure data quality and availability, monitor and optimize pipelines for performance and cost, resolve complex data issues, and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

  • More than 7 years of experience in data engineering or data platforms.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing data lake or data warehouse architectures.
  • Strong experience with data ingestion pipelines, ETL, ELT, and large-scale data processing.
  • Good understanding of data classification, governance, and security concepts.
  • Experience collaborating with security or compliance teams on DLP and data privacy initiatives.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain a scalable data lake architecture.
  • Define data ingestion, transformation, and storage models for structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
  • Establish best practices for data modeling, partitioning, performance, and cost optimization.
  • Ensure high availability, reliability, and data quality across the platform.
  • Design and implement a data classification framework aligned with DLP requirements.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity and compliance teams to support DLP deployment.
  • Identify, label, and manage sensitive data throughout its lifecycle.
  • Integrate data classification into ingestion pipelines, storage layers, and access controls.
  • Implement access controls, traceability, and auditability for data.
  • Support SOX, ITGC, and other compliance controls where applicable.
  • Monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot data pipelines for performance, reliability, and cost.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing.
