About the Role
You will design, build, and operate a scalable Data Lakehouse and related data platform components. You will implement data ingestion, transformation, and storage patterns, embed data classification into pipelines, and enable Data Loss Prevention controls. You will collaborate with security, compliance, IT, and business stakeholders to assess and protect sensitive data, implement access controls and lineage, support compliance controls such as SOX, monitor and optimize pipelines for performance and cost, troubleshoot complex data issues, evaluate new tools, and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in data engineering or data platform roles
- Proven experience designing and implementing data lake or lakehouse architectures
- Strong experience with data ingestion ETL ELT pipelines and large scale data processing
- Solid understanding of data classification data governance and data security concepts
- Experience collaborating with security or compliance teams on DLP and data privacy initiatives
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non technical stakeholders
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain a scalable Data Lakehouse architecture
- Define data ingestion transformation and storage patterns
- Establish data modeling partitioning and performance best practices
- Ensure data availability reliability and quality across the platform
- Lead design and implementation of a data classification framework
- Embed data classification into ingestion pipelines storage and access controls
- Partner with Cybersecurity and Compliance to enable DLP
- Assess data sources understand usage criticality and sensitivity
- Implement data access controls lineage and auditability
- Support compliance driven data controls such as SOX and ITGC
- Monitor optimize and troubleshoot data pipelines for performance reliability and cost
- Evaluate new tools technologies and patterns to improve the data ecosystem
- Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge internally
