About the Role
You will own the end-to-end lifecycle of payment transactions, from calldata construction and custody signing requests through L2 submission and finality confirmation. You will design and operate the signing pipeline, integrity controls, async transaction queue, custody authorization integrations, smart contracts, and audit trails. You will define operational standards, lead incident response, write technical RFCs, and mentor engineers on EVM transaction mechanics and custody integrations.
Requirements
- 5–7 years of backend software engineering experience
- At least 3 years of experience with EVM-compatible blockchain systems
- Proficiency in TypeScript
- Deep familiarity with EVM transaction mechanics, including ABI encoding, nonce management, gas estimation, revert handling, and event decoding
- Production experience developing Solidity smart contracts
- Experience with upgradeable proxy patterns and OpenZeppelin contract libraries
- Experience integrating with institutional custody or key management APIs
- Understanding of MPC signing infrastructure and custodial signing pipelines
- Knowledge of idempotency, at-least-once delivery, crash recovery, and reconciliation in asynchronous transaction systems
- Ability to independently own a domain and write design documents
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end transaction lifecycle, including calldata construction, custody signing requests, nonce management, L2 submission, and finality confirmation
- Design signing pipeline architecture, parallelization strategies, throughput management, and asynchronous transaction submission patterns
- Write RFCs for other engineers to implement
- Define alerting thresholds, runbooks, and SLOs for the signing pipeline
- Lead incident response and root-cause analysis for pipeline failures
- Build and maintain payment integrity controls, including commitment hash verification and co-signer policy evaluation
- Extend and harden Solidity smart contracts with upgrade safety, storage layout discipline, and role governance
- Develop and maintain custody platform authorization policy integrations and the co-signer agent
- Implement structured audit trails from transaction origination through on-chain execution
- Drive the design of the asynchronous transaction queue with tiered SLAs and per-bank throughput quotas
- Mentor engineers earlier in their blockchain careers
- Assess scope and timelines against pipeline correctness risks
