About the Role
You will own the architecture, development, maintenance, and debugging of software applications for upcoming consumer electronics devices. You will design and implement high-performance user-facing applications, create core application interfaces and experiences, contribute to architecture reviews, and collaborate on product-roadmap integration with attention to stability, power, and performance. You will document application architecture, testing procedures, and validation results. You will coordinate system-level validation and hardware/software integration debugging, support production debugging when needed, and support user research studies for interface development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
- 4+ years of hands-on Android application development experience
- 6+ years of software development experience
- Experience developing user interfaces for consumer electronics systems at large scale
- Strong proficiency in Kotlin
- In-depth knowledge of the Android SDK
- Experience with unit testing and UI testing
- Ability to independently own complex projects and deliverables
- Ability to debug complex cross-domain issues in a fast-paced iterative environment
- Commitment to rigorous documentation and testing practices
- Comfort working in a start-up or high-velocity team environment
Responsibilities
- Own the architecture, development, maintenance, and debugging of software applications on consumer electronics devices
- Design and implement high-performance user-facing applications
- Create user interfaces and user experiences for core applications on internally developed devices
- Participate in design reviews and provide input on system architecture
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate concepts into the product roadmap with a focus on stability, power, and performance
- Author and maintain application architecture, testing, and validation documentation
- Coordinate system-level validation and resolve hardware/software integration issues
- Support production-system debugging as needed
- Support user research studies for user-interface development
