About the Role

You will monitor and review flagged transactions on a shared platform, applying local risk context and regulatory knowledge to keep operations safe. You will investigate alerts generated by automated rules, assess their risk level, and decide whether to escalate, close, or take action. You will work closely with the Philippines-based transaction monitoring team to share local risk patterns and request rule tuning adjustments relevant to the Brazilian market. You will prepare and file regulatory reports in line with COAF and other applicable Brazilian AML/CFT frameworks. You will identify emerging fraud typologies and document your findings for the global risk team. You will help develop and refine local risk policies and procedures that align with both global standards and Brazilian regulations. You will serve as the first point of escalation for the local operations team on transaction-related risk queries, and participate in periodic risk reviews, audits, and regulatory exams.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of experience in a risk, compliance, AML, or fraud operations role within fintech, crypto, banking, or payments
  • Hands-on experience working with transaction monitoring systems or similar risk tooling
  • Familiarity with the Brazilian regulatory landscape, including COAF reporting obligations, BACEN guidelines, and AML/CFT regulations
  • Strong analytical skills to investigate complex transaction chains and identify patterns of risk
  • Comfort working with data; ability to query or interpret transaction data reports (SQL is a plus)
  • Excellent written communication skills in Portuguese; working proficiency in English required
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a remote setting across time zones

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and review flagged transactions on the shared TRMS platform, applying BR-specific risk context and regulatory knowledge
  • Investigate alerts generated by automated rules, assess their risk level, and make disposition decisions
  • Collaborate with the PH-based TRMS team to communicate local risk patterns and request rule tuning adjustments
  • Prepare and file regulatory reports in accordance with COAF and other applicable Brazilian AML/CFT frameworks
  • Identify emerging fraud typologies and transaction patterns specific to the Brazilian market and document findings
  • Support the development and refinement of local risk policies and procedures
  • Act as the first line of escalation for the BR operations team on transaction-related risk queries
  • Participate in periodic risk reviews, audits, and regulatory exams
