About the Role
You will own risk management for a Luxembourg sub-threshold AIFM, oversee fund administration, and produce regulatory and fund reporting. You will verify fund data, monitor risks and limits, lead audits, challenge third-party outputs, maintain control frameworks, and help govern AI-supported reporting controls.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in risk management, fund accounting oversight, fund audit, or a similar technical control role in Luxembourg private equity or real estate.
- Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA, IRE, or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of AIFMD risk management requirements, AIFMD/CSSF reporting, Annex IV, and SFDR disclosures.
- Hands-on experience with stress testing and liquidity risk frameworks.
- Expert knowledge of Lux GAAP, IFRS, fund waterfalls, fee accruals, and private-equity valuation principles.
- Experience designing or running a risk or oversight framework.
- Experience overseeing fund administrators through SLAs, oversight logs, and governance.
- Experience working with engineering and AI teams to automate risk and reporting controls in a regulated context.
Responsibilities
- Own the AIFM Risk Management function and maintain risk policies, limits, and registers.
- Identify, measure, monitor, and manage market, liquidity, counterparty, operational, concentration, leverage, and ESG/SFDR risks.
- Monitor overcommitment ratios, conduct stress tests, escalate breaches, and provide risk reporting to management and the Board.
- Lead AIFMD, CSSF, investor, and fund-level regulatory reporting cycles.
- Monitor Luxembourgish and European regulatory and accounting standards.
- Lead annual audits and provide technical sign-off on accounting treatments, fee accruals, and valuation methodologies.
- Perform second-level fund administrator controls, including NAV shadowing, fee and waterfall verification, distribution reconciliation, and oversight-log maintenance.
- Independently challenge third-party providers and manage SLAs and the fund administrator oversight framework.
- Maintain internal control framework SOPs for risk and financial oversight.
- Govern AI-augmented fund controlling and reporting tools with human review checkpoints.
