About the Role
You will lead research on scalable algorithms, software, and AI-enabled methods for neuromorphic systems. You will optimize distributed workflows on GPU-accelerated systems, develop research software, characterize performance, mentor researchers, contribute to proposals, and publish results.
Requirements
- PhD in data science and engineering, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, mathematics, or a closely related field
- Programming proficiency in Python and C or C++
- Experience with parallel and distributed computing, including MPI, distributed machine-learning frameworks, and HPC workload managers
- Experience with GPU-accelerated platforms and NVIDIA CUDA or AMD ROCm
- Experience scaling AI, machine-learning, or scientific-computing workloads on multi-node systems
- Experience with machine-learning frameworks such as PyTorch
- Experience with Git, containers, testing, and documentation
- Record of peer-reviewed publications in high-performance computing, AI, machine learning, or computational science
Responsibilities
- Conduct and lead research on scalable algorithms and software for spiking neural networks and neuromorphic systems
- Develop AI-driven architecture search and hardware-software co-design methods
- Design, implement, optimize, and evaluate distributed training, inference, and simulation workflows
- Develop methods for large-scale modeling and simulation campaigns
- Characterize performance, scalability, portability, reliability, data movement, and power consumption
- Develop and maintain documented, tested, reproducible research software
- Contribute to proposals, project plans, milestones, and sponsor deliverables
- Mentor students and early-career researchers
- Publish research and present results
