About the Role
You will work with experimental and computational scientists on active materials-research problems. You will investigate agent failures, improve materials databases and metadata, strengthen data collection, build laboratory research software, and create evaluations that measure agent performance.
Requirements
- 4+ years of research or industry experience in experimental or computational materials science and data at scale
- PhD in Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience
- Materials-science domain expertise
- Data-engineering and data-management expertise
- Attention to detail in reading, understanding, and improving data
Responsibilities
- Work with laboratory scientists and computational teams on active research problems
- Investigate agent traces to identify data errors and agent failure modes
- Restructure materials databases and metadata for LLM-agent reasoning
- Improve data collection with hardware and automation teams
- Build research software for laboratory environments
- Create evaluations that measure agent performance
