CBAI conducts and supports AI-safety research, runs fully funded in-person research fellowships and the CAMBRIA ML upskilling bootcamp, and supports AI-safety student groups in the Cambridge/Boston area.

About the Role
You will coach fellows through research work, provide substantive feedback, coordinate with mentors, and connect fellows with relevant resources. You will help select fellows, design cohort programming, improve program feedback loops, and prepare briefs on AI and biosecurity developments.
Requirements
- Experience supporting complex analytical or research projects
- Substantial analytical, research, policy, consulting, or industry research experience
- Meaningful exposure to biosecurity, AI safety, or their intersection
- Ability to provide constructive research feedback
- Strong communication skills
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field
- Research or policy experience with strong methodological knowledge
- U.S. work authorization
Responsibilities
- Conduct frequent one-to-one meetings with fellows
- Provide feedback on research design, literature scaffolds, data collection, analysis, and methodology
- Help fellows overcome research obstacles
- Connect fellows with AIxBio resources, literature, and opportunities
- Coordinate with mentors on research objectives and fellow progress
- Review and interview fellowship candidates
- Contribute to reading groups, workshops, and supplementary programming
- Support applicant selection, evaluation frameworks, and mentor onboarding
- Meet weekly with program leadership to improve feedback loops
- Stay current on AI and biosecurity developments
- Prepare periodic field-development briefs for fellows
