About the Role

You will design experiments, scaling studies, ablations, and evaluations for foundation models. You will train multimodal models across large distributed GPU clusters, curate data, and design model evaluations. You will collaborate with chemists and materials scientists to integrate computational and experimental workflows.

Requirements

  • Strong software engineering skills and experience building complex high-performance systems at scale
  • Experience training or evaluating large models in a distributed setting
  • Depth in large-scale vision or representation learning, LLM pre-training or post-training, or reinforcement learning
  • Interest in AI, materials science, or chemistry
  • Master’s or PhD in computer science, machine learning, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience with representation learning and computer vision

Responsibilities

  • Design and run scaling studies, ablations, and evaluations
  • Lead parallel training of multimodal foundation models across hundreds of GPUs
  • Apply software engineering practices to build scalable, reliable, and maintainable systems
  • Own data curation and evaluation design for models
  • Partner with chemists and materials scientists to integrate computational and experimental workflows
  • Learn materials-science and experimental-chemistry vocabulary

Benefits

  • Equity in CuspAI
  • 28 days holiday in DE, NL, and UK or 21 days holiday in JP, SG, and US, plus local public holidays
  • 26 weeks of fully paid parental leave for primary caregivers and 12 weeks for secondary caregivers
  • Professional development budget
