About the Role
You will adapt and document the NeuralGCM training pipeline for efficient use on Google Cloud and NVIDIA GPUs. You will couple NeuralGCM with an ML ocean model, test the integration strategy, contribute open-source code through reviews and design documents, and present tutorials to user groups.
Requirements
- 2–4 years of experience building and deploying a relevant machine-learning application in a practical or academic research setting
- Fluency in Python and collaborative coding practices
- Bachelor's degree in computer or computational science, atmospheric science, a related geophysical science, or applied mathematics/statistics
- Experience developing ML training code for cloud computing environments
- Excellent communication skills
Responsibilities
- Adapt NeuralGCM training pipelines and data requirements for Google Cloud resources and NVIDIA GPUs
- Document the training pipeline and distribute code through a GitHub repository
- Implement and test a strategy to couple NeuralGCM with an ML ocean model
- Contribute to open-source code development, code reviews, design documents, and collaborator interactions
- Develop and present NeuralGCM+ tutorials for user groups
