About the Role

You will manage grantmaking across independent evaluations, standards, foundational safety research, and AI control. You will investigate grants, recommend awards, develop new initiatives, route AI resources to grantees, shape strategy, and maintain relationships across the AI safety ecosystem.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of AI safety experience
  • Hands-on experience in model safety or evaluations, safety teams, grantmaking, or organization building
  • Fluency in evaluations, red-teaming, auditing, interpretability, control, and alignment research
  • Knowledge of frontier AI capabilities and risks
  • Ability to own ambitious, loosely scoped projects
  • Grantmaking, VC, philanthropic, or technical safety research experience

Responsibilities

  • Run grantmaking across testing, evaluations, standards, safety research, and AI control
  • Conduct grant investigations and make recommendations to the board
  • Identify, scope, and seed priority projects and organizations
  • Route AI resources to safety grantees
  • Develop program strategy
  • Build relationships across the AI safety ecosystem
