About the Role
You'll spend the majority of your time building and improving the internal tools, workflows, and automation that make production support run more effectively. The rest of your time you'll work alongside teammates on monitoring, incident response, and cross-team coordination. You'll build tooling in Python, troubleshoot complex applications, automate operations across Kubernetes/EKS, and coordinate with global teams to ensure seamless follow-the-sun support.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in production support or engineering roles, preferably in finance
- Strong technical skills in SQL and Python; experience with Databricks or similar data platforms is a plus
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes; ability to read pod logs, diagnose issues, and write basic Helm configs
- Experience with incident response, root cause analysis, and structured problem-solving
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and quality
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to work well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and prioritize tasks effectively
Responsibilities
- Work on automation projects focused on reliability improvements, toil reduction, and incident response
- Build and maintain internal tooling in Python, including scripts, bots, and lightweight applications
- Monitor system health and performance; identify and resolve issues promptly
- Improve observability across systems; build dashboards and refine alerting thresholds
- Debug and troubleshoot complex applications written in Java and Python
- Automate operational tasks across Kubernetes/EKS environment, including deployments, health checks, alerting, and runbook automation
- Collaborate with development teams to implement fixes and enhancements
- Integrate with internal platforms (FireHydrant, DataDog, Jira, Confluence) to streamline incident workflows
- Coordinate with global counterparts to ensure seamless follow-the-sun support; some on-call is expected
- Triage and respond to production incidents across cryptocurrency business lines
- Investigate issues using SQL and log analysis; escalate and coordinate with development teams as needed
- Document and maintain support procedures, runbooks, and knowledge base articles
- Leverage AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, and output quality
