About the Role
You will identify hazards in humanoid robots and develop ways to eliminate or mitigate risk across hardware, controls, software, and AI behavior. You will design safer architectures, controls, behaviors, and validation strategies, while establishing engineering principles for safety-critical robotic systems.
Requirements
- Deep experience in robotics safety and AI-enabled robotic systems
- Background in robot design, system architecture, controls, actuation, sensing, and electromechanical behavior
- Track record of safety innovation for robot hazards
- Experience designing safety cases, safety validation strategies, and safety test plans
- Experience applying functional safety methods for product-specific risk reduction
Responsibilities
- Identify hazards in robots and their Operational Design Domain
- Develop risk-mitigation approaches across hardware, controls, software, and AI behavior
- Identify risks emerging from interactions between physical systems and intelligent behavior
- Develop safer architectures, controls, behaviors, and validation strategies
- Establish engineering principles for safe humanoid design
