About the Role
You will model, simulate, and evaluate Quantum-HPC architectures and hybrid quantum-classical approaches. You will develop runtime technologies, conduct hardware-software co-design, create research software, mentor junior researchers, publish results, and support technical deliverables.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in quantum computing, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, applied mathematics, or a closely related discipline
- Knowledge of or research experience in quantum science, quantum computing, or related areas
- Background in computer architecture, high-performance computing, quantum computing systems, distributed or heterogeneous computing, runtime systems, or performance modeling and simulation
- Experience with architectural modeling, simulation, prototyping, performance analysis, or experimental evaluation
- Software development skills in C/C++ and Python
- Record of independent research and peer-reviewed publications
- Ability to obtain and maintain an HSPD-12 PIV badge
- Completion of all degree requirements before the appointment begins
Responsibilities
- Develop and evaluate architectural models, simulators, and performance-modeling frameworks for QHPC systems
- Analyze quantum computing modalities and their integration with HPC systems
- Develop quantum runtime technologies for workload mapping, scheduling, resource management, and execution orchestration
- Conduct hardware-software and application-system co-design
- Develop research software and prototypes, mentor junior researchers, and publish results
- Contribute to proposals, technical reports, publications, software artifacts, and peer review
- Follow cybersecurity policies and requirements for sensitive information
