About the Role

You will develop and port scalable lattice QCD applications and algorithms for leadership computers. You will debug and tune applications, build performance models using proxy or mini-applications, apply large-scale computational methods, and communicate research through publications, conference papers, and technical manuals.

Requirements

  • Hold a Ph.D. in theoretical physics, computational physics, computer science, applied mathematics, computational science, or a related discipline earned no more than five years before application
  • Complete all degree requirements before starting
  • Be able to obtain and maintain a federal Personal Identity Verification card
  • Pass a Federal Tier 1 background investigation

  • Develop and port scalable science applications and algorithms
  • Debug and tune high-performance applications
  • Develop performance models for future architectures
  • Apply large-scale computational methodologies to scientific objectives
  • Conduct research and report results in publications, conference papers, and technical manuals
