About the Role

Ensure the reliability and functionality of on-site IT infrastructure at mining and data center sites. Resolve technical issues, assist users on site, manage IT asset lifecycles, perform environmental and hardware checks, configure computers and operating systems, apply security patches, monitor backups and PDUs, replace defective components, design and implement network infrastructure when required, and maintain accurate documentation and logs. The role may require weekly on-call support.

Requirements

  • 1 to 2 years of experience in a similar Level 2 role
  • Obtain ASP training within 90 days of hire
  • Valid driver's license
  • High school diploma or AEC
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of workplace safety standards
  • Teamwork orientation and strong sense of responsibility
  • Proactive, curious and analytical problem-solving mindset

Responsibilities

  • Ensure reliability and functionality of on-site IT infrastructure
  • Install and remove server hardware and network devices
  • Install, terminate, label and organize network cabling
  • Update inventory and asset management systems
  • Clean and maintain hardware and site areas
  • Perform routine floor checks for alarms and visible warnings
  • Monitor HVAC and environmental control systems
  • Monitor PDUs and ensure proper power distribution
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware issues
  • Escalate complex issues and follow through to resolution
  • Replace defective components such as drives and power supplies
  • Configure computers and operating systems
  • Apply security patches and software updates
  • Monitor backups and ensure backup integrity
  • Ensure proper data sanitization or destruction of storage devices
  • Control and verify authorized physical access to the data center
  • Design, plan and implement network systems and infrastructure
  • Maintain logs and update operational documentation
