About the Role
You will own and oversee the legal framework across the EU and Switzerland, focusing on MiCA, CASP requirements, and financial services regulation. You will advise C-level and leadership on legal risks and regulatory developments, support licensing and regulatory implementation, and act as primary legal contact for external counsel. You will review and negotiate key contracts, support corporate governance and board-level documentation, and embed legal considerations early in product, market expansion, and partnership decisions. You will identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks while enabling speed and pragmatic decision-making in a regulated fintech environment. You will work closely with Compliance, Product, Engineering, HR, Finance, and Operations to ensure legal alignment across the business.
Requirements
- Minimum 5-7 years of legal experience in fintech, financial services, or regulated environments within the EU
- Strong understanding of EU financial regulation with hands-on experience in MiCA, CASP licensing, or similar frameworks
- Deep understanding of Bitcoin and willingness to continuously learn about it
- Experience advising digital assets or payment businesses
- Law degree from an EU-recognized institution; bar admission is a plus
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced startup environment with ambiguity, ownership, and pragmatic problem-solving
- Ability to explain complex legal and regulatory topics clearly and concisely to non-legal stakeholders
- Meticulous approach to documentation
- Fluency in English and French; German knowledge is a strong plus
Responsibilities

- Act as key legal authority on MiCA and related EU regulations, supporting licensing, regulatory interpretation, and implementation
- Advise C-level and Extended Leadership on legal risks, regulatory developments, and strategic decisions
- Serve as primary legal point of contact for external counsel and advisors
- Oversee and review key contracts including partners, vendors, employment, and strategic agreements
- Support corporate governance, internal policies, and board-level documentation
- Embed legal considerations early in product, market expansion, partnerships, and operational decisions
- Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks while enabling speed and innovation in a regulated environment
